ooc: Hey there~ Went and found the replies I missed in the last day or so and saved them to my drafts. I’ll see what I can do about getting to them tonight, but I’m just being lazy at the moment. My friends and I had a get-together and stayed up til 4 or 5 this morning. Got three or four hours of sleep max. I’m probably running on tea, sugar, and Monster at this point.

But thank you to my new followers and I look forward to coaxing my muse back out by roleplaying with you guys!

Anything you may want to know about my Gilbert, feel free to ask! Otherwise, take a look here.

ooc: Wow, I have been owing replies forever. I’m sorry ;A;

My muse decided to hibernate or something. Now, being on summer break, I’ve decided it’s time he stopped. So I’m working on it.

I owe two replies to Lottie (littlepinkettehood), one to Break (hattersblend) and one to Vanessa (nightray-nee-san).

That’s actually an interesting combination…but at any rate, I’ll see what I can do about (finally) getting to those! But not tonight because it’s past 12:30 and I’m pretty tired.

“You suppose?” Oz trailed off, his voice lowering. That… wasn’t very heartening at all. He ran a hand through his hair, ruffling the blond strands and causing them to be even wilder than normal.

“I’ve been… better, I suppose?” It wasn’t long before the smile came back onto his face, in an effort to show to Gil that he was fine, really, everything was fine. Even the way Gil was acting was different than normal; he didn’t like it. It was too guarded.

He could see Oz falter and, despite everything, still saw the same boy he had known. Gilbert wanted that boy to be happy and his own mood certainly wasn’t helping. Certainly Oz had things on his mind as well, but he didn’t like being a possible cause to add on to it. He tried to smile, to sound more reassuring.

“I’m fine…” Despite the somewhat less than reassuring answer he had received, Gilbert was somewhat relieved to see his master smile and wouldn’t be surprised if it showed. Sure, something about the smile seemed to be more for show than genuine feelings, but…it was something, right?

“Mhm.” The smile slipped a bit as Oz remembered a few of the details, swallowing dryly as he remembered watching Gil fall to the floor due to another sword slashing at him, but this time with purpose. He didn’t… exactly know where Jack was, but maybe he should have Gil handle things for Jack did anything bad?

“So… how did your little talk with Vincent go?” he asked conversationally, not quite meeting his gaze at the moment. Maybe Gil still didn’t remember, and they could go back to how they were before.

The slash wound he had received was naturally the last thing on Gilbert’s mind. He was more concerned with other people and other things. He had learned part of the reason for that temperament in the process of regaining his memories, only proving he didn’t need to be extremely concerned. Still, part of him wanted to ignore everything that had happened — at least for a while.

“I…still don’t understand what he wants to do,” Gilbert admitted, trying to keep things conversational. And it was true in a way, despite the fact that he had regained his memories. He understood it fundamentally, but somehow found it to be odd, still. “I suppose you managed alright…?”

This woman was familiar. He had taken her to be the stupid rabbit at first, but then he realized it was only a similarity. Alice wasn’t a child of misfortune, after all.

“Hello…”

Gilbert nodded. He supposed it made sense to be curious about a place in general and everything about it, especially when it was new to an individual. He wondered what this man would make of a place like the Abyss, but didn’t voice this thought.

“I don’t know much help I can be…if you wanted help at all.” He knew he had things to attend to, but if someone were to ask for some kind of help that wouldn’t detract from his time working on other things too much, he supposed it wouldn’t be a problem. He had to be wary of what information he gave, if any, of course. That was a given with Pandora employees. But now that he had begun talking with Huey, it would be less than courteous to not at least put the offer out there.

Well that was a new offer. No one else had really bothered to offer him help—but that was fine. Sometimes Huey found it easier to learn about places on his own. Memorize the terrain, draw out the secret that made it tick, that was what Huey liked to do in unfamiliar territory.

“Ah… perhaps you might be able to point me in the direction of where to start?” He gave a simple, masked personality of an innocent yet curious individual as he asked the question. Yes, this mask would be able to do for now. “Someplace where I might find some local history… it wouldn’t do me any good to not know how things worked after all.” That was probably a good place to start for now. Then maybe move onto something other than history if Huey intended to stay around for long, but that could wait. He only needed to worry about one thing at a time.

Gilbert took a moment to think. History… There was one answer to this that was considerably more obvious than anything else. It was the site of the most out-standing historical event the area had ever seen. He could point the man in such a direction with a warning, perhaps. Otherwise, each place had a history all its own. What was largely relevant to him might not seem relevant in the grand scheme of things.

“Sablier has an interesting history…” he said, following his musing. “No one knows all the facts” — for the most part, a lie despite the fact that some information simply wasn’t for the public — “but perhaps that would interest you. I should warn you it can be dangerous…” Even had Gilbert known the man he was talking to was immortal, he might have given his warning. Regardless of mortality, people can be sucked into the Abyss, after all.

“Oz…”

In light of recent revelations, Gilbert isn’t quite sure where he stands in relation to Oz. The Oz he knew was nothing like the Oz from then and even seemed unaware of it. Was all that true now, though?

“Gil~!”

His servant hadn’t changed at all, he reflected, he really hadn’t. He still over thought things too much.  At least, that’s how it was appearing to him at the moment, with the way Gil said his name and how he was looking at him.

Plus, the blush was still adorable, even on a twenty-four year old man.

“How are you?” he asked instead with a smile, trying to knock him out of the mood he seemed to be in.

“I’m fine…I suppose.”

Oz hardly seemed worried at all. Yet again, he acted as if nothing had changed when, in Gilbert’s eyes, the world might as well have been turned upside-down.

But it was Oz who had mattered to him for so long, and he couldn’t shake that sense of loyalty and caring in spite of what he knew; that familiar grin made it seem like nothing had, in fact, changed.

Had he chosen to look at it a different way, he could have come to the conclusion that the only thing changed were their perspectives. Perhaps only his had been changed, really. Whether or not they had known it, the event in Sablier had taken place.

“And you?”
